Aveline Books 1-3: The Lost Art of Reverie, A Jar Full of Light, and The FIre in our Hearth
"I was hooked from the first page. The characters are very supportive and care for each other and their community. I'm a fan." --Amazon Reader
The Lost Art of Reverie:
An inheritance. A long-forgotten dream. A new life in a spacious place.
Corporate life has not been treating Katie Grace well. Suffering from extreme anxiety due to a recent incident at work, she learns that she has inherited her late grandmother’s Victorian house in the lake town of Aveline, in the rolling hills of the Los Padres National Forest. Maybe a new start will be exactly what she needs.
Hardware store owner Sam Grant remembers Katie from when they spent summers together, years before. Sam has determined never to get involved in a relationship again, but working on Katie’s house renovations might put that resolve to the test.
In Aveline, Katie allows herself to dream again, finding solace in creating food and a space for her new friends to gather. As members of the town welcome Katie, her heart begins to find safety, but will the events of the past repeat themselves?

A Jar Full of Light:
Theresa Grant fled Aveline ten years ago, certain that she would never return. She was wrong.
When Theresa's teenage daughter, Maddie, pleads with her to come back to Aveline, Theresa can't say no. She finds herself packing up and driving back to the lake town of her childhood—back to the lake, the trees, and to an old friend who wants to rekindle their spark.
Will a new house, new friends, and her work as a potter be enough to keep her in Aveline? Or will old secrets drive her away?

The Fire in our Hearth:
"This series so engaged me that I couldn't stop long enough to write a review for each book." -- Amazon Reader
A temporary job assignment in a small town. A family in need. A compelling, kind-hearted man. Ani might be in trouble.
When Ani Nazaryan’s job as sponsorship facilitator brings her to Aveline to assist four refugee families, she knows she must keep her heart unattached or risk heartbreak when it is time to move away. But she couldn’t have foreseen the big changes in the program, the beauty of the town, or the connection she would feel to one of the sponsors.
Daniel Wright was wrongly suspected of a crime ten years ago. Ever since then, he has spent his time working at the post office, keeping his head down, and trying to avoid confrontation. When a confession from a friend clears his name for good, he must decide what his life will become. As he begins to work alongside Ani, he sees possibilities he thought were out of his reach forever. Will he have the bravery to try a new life and finally gain a family?
Note from the author: I have always loved romance, and I think love stories are so beautiful. I also love the picture of the small town as a kind of landscape for community. I wanted to write something that reflected the kinds of people I have known all my life. So that is why I wrote about Aveline, a small town that is like the life I have known, with quirky, real, lovable characters who come from many backgrounds and ways of life. Community, brokenness, kindness, and the kingdom of God in action. Isn’t it amazing, how vulnerable we all are? And then we offer food and friendship in the context of houses and cafés and forests… we extend our hands to one another and become family.
